School of Fine Arts
Decatur, AL area

SoFA Acting classes can help your child become self confident and assured. Acting classes not only help them to prepare for school and community theater auditions, but they teach self expression and vocal delivery fitting for job interviews, oral presentations, and everyday life as well. Training for a stage performance in theater can strengthen your child’s self esteem and give them a community of people that share a common interest.

Our Summer Camps are created to offer something for every child. We focus on performing arts, but also any avenue through which a chld can express themselves. We believe self expression, for children especially, is essential to them learning and believing they were created by God with a specific purpose in mind and to do great things for Him.

Our 1-week camps are typically 1-2.5 hours a day for 4 or 5 days of the week. They are for ages 3 up to 12th grade and explore interests such as art, acting, music theory, violin, guitar, piano, drumming, mallet instruments, and different dance styles.

Besides our 1-week camps, we also have Musikgarten summer classes. These classes meet one day a week for 30-45 minutes and are for ages 3 months to 4 years. There are usually 5 or 6 meetings during the summer. Musikgarten is a internationally acclaimed music program in which children and caregivers participate together.

Our third style of summer camp is lengthier than our typical one-week camp or 1 day a week camp. We offer T.E.A.M. Academy which stands for Theater, Engineering, Art, and Music. It is a full day camp that runs 8am-5pm,Monday through Thursday and 8am-noon on Friday. Acting Out! Academy
Birmingham, AL area

Acting Out! Academy is the premier on-camera acting academy in greater Birmingham, AL. The six-year-old academy focuses on contemporary, on-camera acting, offering classes, audition coaching, and taped auditions for kids and adults, along with on-camera private lessons to prepare students for professional opportunities in film and television.

We teach acting for Film and T.V., heavily emphasizing audition technique and interview skills (because you can be the best actor in the world, but if you can't audition, you won't work). We begin by teaching how not to act. We focus on understanding; where you are, what you are saying, who you are speaking to and how they feel about what is going on, and just being "real" and "in the moment." If you are "acting," you are doing it wrong!
