DELAWARE ACTING CAMPS & CLASSES

Camps and classes for Delaware kids and teens that have a special focus on acting in the theatre. Many of these Delaware acting education programs also focus on singing, dancing and music. Most programs present a performance on the last day of classes. Most of the camps are day camps, but some are residential.

Dance, Voice & Acting Master Classes
This is a dance and vocal interpretation class for students seeking to understand the expectations and skills needed to perform at the next level.

Included in the session: experiences of writing an original Broadway-style musical.

These workshops expose students to professional techniques in dance, acting, and singing that help students discover their potential. The workshops are instructional and inspiring. Clear Space Theatre Company

Clear Space offers classes in acting, voice, & more for all ages and experience levels. All classes are held in the theatre and taught by professional actors and educators. Develop your mind, body & creativity in a fun & focused atmosphere.

Broadway Bound
Our hallmark Arts Institute program, Broadway Bound, enriches the lives of students through the performing arts. Led by industry professionals, students rotate through classes in acting, dance, and voice, as well as group rehearsals. This class is as much about teaching life skills, including self-confidence and public speaking, as it is performing arts driven. The classes culminate in an end-of-semester presentation of several songs from different eras of musical theatre.

Broadway Legends: Musical Theatre
Students 50 and older have the joy of learning a full musical without the added pressure of memorization or complex staging. The 10 week session culminates in a final performance on the last day of class, which is open to family and friends!

Summer Intensives
Clear Space’s Musical Theatre Summer Camp Intensive program began in 2004 to serve students of Sussex County, Delaware. Since then, more than 2,000 students have participated in the Intensives, which exceed capacity each summer.

Each Summer Camp Intensive is designed to give students a taste of life in a professional theatre. Mimicking the rehearsal and production process of Clear Space’s own summer repertory season, students will create and perform music and dances from a popular Broadway musical in one week. In this performance-based experience, our faculty of industry professionals guide students through instruction in acting, dance and vocal technique, as well as group rehearsals. This experience, full of challenging but attainable performing arts activities, culminates in two free performances on the final day at 11am and Noon. There are 4 Intensives designed for different grade levels to choose from!

Spotlight on Young Performers
Spotlight on Young Performers is designed for students who wish to focus more specifically on a higher level of dramatic studies after completing our signature Broadway Bound program. Students are guided through the rehearsal process, putting together a production, and working as an ensemble in a fully staged junior production of a Broadway musical. The semester finishes with a weekend of public performances.

Babies On Broadway
This class that will give your little one a chance to shine at an early age. During this 10 week session, children ages 3-6 will get a taste of what it’s like to be on stage. They will learn songs and dances, as well as poems and short scenes from popular movies and Broadway shows. Students will also get a chance to make a costume piece or prop for their show! The session will end in a final performance for family and friends.
