Camps and classes for Oklahoma kids, teens, and adults that have a special focus on acting in the theatre. Many of these Oklahoma acting education programs also focus on singing, dancing and music. Most programs present a performance on the last day of classes. Most of the camps are day camps, but some are residential.

Oklahoma Arts Institute

The Oklahoma Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain is a private, non-profit organization with a mission to provide exceptional multidisciplinary arts experiences that develop individual talent and inspire a lifelong passion for the arts.

The Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute is an intensive, two-week academy in the literary, visual, and performing arts for Oklahomas most talented high school students. Students are selected through a competitive statewide audition process, and every accepted student automatically receives a scholarship to attend. The programs multidisciplinary structure sets the Summer Arts Institute apart from other arts programs in the nation.

The Oklahoma Fall Arts Institute is a series of four-day weekend workshops for educators and adult artists of all ability levels. Instruction is offered in the literary, visual, and performing arts, including workshops tailored to educators, who can receive full scholarships to the program. Over 50,000 Oklahoma public school children are reached each year through their teachers attendance at the Fall Institute.

Acting students study character development, motivation, and analysis of intentions and objectives. The daily schedule may include voice and/or movement class. Students rehearse and perform an ensemble workshop production. Applicants should be aware that classes are on a collegiate level and may contain mature subject matter. The Actor Factory

The goal of the Actor Factory is to build, refine and support actors of all ages working to appear in front of the camera.

Every instructor at The Factory works professionally in their field; they act in, cast actors for and provide voice behind film, television, commercials and radio. For a living. ArtWorks Academy of Performing Arts

ArtWorks Academy offers one of the finest theatre education programs in the region. Producing nearly fifteen plays and musicals each season, we provide our students with a multitude of performance opportunities. Camp will be fun-filled, as always, supplemented with outdoor programming and activities as appropriate, and most of all, SAFE! The Academy Professional Artist Training (APAT) track, or Academy Stars, is the path for the most dedicated students who want to push their training to a serious level with the goal of a career in the performing arts. There is no age restriction, but there is an audition requirement. Students enroll in the training package to best prepare for musical theatre university and conservatory programs, professional regional theatres, Broadway, and other performance careers.

Participation requires students to take Acting, Dance, Voice, the APAT class, and one Academy production each semester. The APAT production will be included in the Stars class time. Required classes must be taken at the Academy unless otherwise checked off by the APAT instructor group.

In addition to classes & lessons, the Academy Stars will perform at various events throughout the year as Academy and Lyric ambassadors.

Founded in 1996, Oklahoma Performing Arts (OPA) is a nonprofit organization that teaches arts educations programs for children ages 3 to 19. OPA offers ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics, music, voice, acting and technical theater, as well as public performances, in diverse theatrical genres.

Theatre Tulsa Academy’s Broadway Bound is an advanced course for ages 13-18 that focuses on advanced skills and techniques.

The program features classes and materials geared toward advanced students and higher concept work. Students will learn proper technique, character development and other skills in class, then apply them all in a professional rehearsal atmosphere. Broadway Bound performers will ultimately present a fully-staged, fully-costumed production held at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center.
