WASHINGTON ACTING CAMPS & CLASSES

Camps and classes for Washington kids, teens, and adults that have a special focus on acting in the theatre. Many of these Washington acting education programs also focus on singing, dancing and music. Most programs present a performance on the last day of classes. Most of the camps are day camps, but some are residential.

Studio East

Studio East offers performing arts education programming for students age 4-19 through classes, camps, and workshops in our home base in Kirkland, and at schools around the community!

Here at Studio East, our philosophy is simple, Be safe. Be kind. Have fun! We believe that theater is for everyone and there will always be space here for every student who wants to grow. In our classrooms, we focus on skill development through fun and engaging activities, meet every student where they are in their development, encourage them to challenge themselves by trying, and celebrate each and every one of their successes with them.

Our quarterly theater classes offer Fall, Mini-Winter, Winter and Spring sessions each year. Offerings include acting, dance, and music classes with a variety of themes and focuses for preschool through high school students. Our dedicated instructors provide high-quality theater education, whether you are looking at drama as part of your curriculum or as a creative outlet. Break Camps & Studio Days

Studio East traditionally offers theater camps at our Kirkland home base during school break weeks each year.

Because dates vary between school districts, look at your calendar carefully when registering for Break Camps. Themes and formats change from camp to camp, but it’s always a blast!

Productions / The Academy Players
For 6 - 18 year olds:
Productions by the Academy Players will perform at the end of each session of classes. The list of shows will be announced at the beginning of each year and auditions will be held before each new session. Productions will vary to offer different theatrical styles and use different ages of students.

Acting
Unleash your inner Actor in our engaging classes! From mastering Voice and Diction to Improv and Stage Combat, we cover it all. Tailored to your age and skill level, our classes stretch your abilities, fostering growth as young artists. Enhance public speaking, presentation, and acting skills.

Stage Kids is an educational theater program that focuses on developing character. We see the value of having children develop skills in classes in addition to participating in shows. For this reason, simultaneous enrollment in a class is required while in the cast of a show. Stage Kids knows that kids grow in confidence when they grow in skills!

Taproot Theatre tells stories of hope, serving the Pacific Northwest through live theatre and educational programs.

Taproot Theatre Company's Acting Studio is offers classes for students, adults and seniors.

Elementary and high school students will build detailed characters and learn to work as an ensemble as they rehearse for a final performance.

Adults will study the fundamentals of acting and make bold character decisions as they learn to play off other actors. Seniors can choose between a class that will dive into scene studies and character work or an improv class geared towards those with Early Stage Memory Loss.
