Casper Children’s Theatre
Casper, WY area

Main Stage: Ages 11-18 - Young performers work in an intensive study of theatre performance. In addition to preparing the roles they will play, students will be immersed in, and learn about, the entire production process. As always, the goal of the CCT is to educate, promote growth, and provide an atmosphere where students can explore their own creativity, regardless of theatrical experience.

First Act: Ages 8-10 - Children learn acting fundamentals & performance skills, stage presence & confidence, as well as collaboration & ensemble work. This transitional performance group provides opportunities for students to showcase their talents through mini-performances or scene presentations, preparing them to make a confident leap into our Main Stage performance group.

Kinderdrama: Ages 4-7 - Kiddos explore the basics of acting, including body awareness, vocal projection, and emotional expression. Through fun exercises and games, they learn how to effectively communicate. Students’ imagination is activated in order to build self-confidence while bringing creativity and story-telling to life. Through vocal & physical warm-ups, theatre games, concentration & memorization exercises, and scene work, students learn how actors prepare for the stage.

Off Square Theatre Company
Jackson, WY area

Off Square is the resident theater company for Jackson's Center for the Arts

In February of each year, Off Square Theatre produces the Mike & Jean Louise Thieme Youth Musical with a professional creative team and a cast of students in grades 3-12.

The youth musical maintains professional standards during rehearsals and performances and features elaborate design components. Participation in the musical offers the chance for our local youth to put what they learn in the classroom into practice on stage. It gives students a supportive hands-on environment to hone theatrical skills like public speaking, listening, problem solving, collaboration within a group, risk taking, and movement/coordination. This program allows children of all ages to work together, make new friends, build leadership skills, and gain confidence at a crucial time in their development.

Students grades 8+ are invited to apply for a position in our Off Square Players theatre ensemble. Those students who are selected to join the ensemble will receive a role – acting, directing, stage managing, designing, or some combination thereof – in the production of a straight play.

After workshops to learn about their various roles, students will rehearse for six weeks in a “student-produced, professionally-managed” format. All this leads up to a weekend of shows for the public in Off Square’s Black Box Theater!

Off Square Players also offers a sumer camps. See the website for camp information.
